Nicky Sumnal – Senior Nurse
Nicky joined Rhyd Broughton in 2007 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2009. She is interested in surgical nursing & diagnostic imaging. Nicky runs our adolescent and weight nurse clinics and has an interest in marketing of the practice. Her black Labrador called Lexi takes up much of her time outside Rhyd Broughton. She also enjoys socialising with friends and family and playing the cornet in a local brass band.
Hannah Smallwood – Senior Nurse
Hannah joined Rhyd Broughton in 2009 and became a qualified nurse in October of 2011. Now she is a senior nurse and clinical coach to our student nurses. She loves every aspect of being a nurse, specifically theatre, radiography and general nursing. Hannah also has a keen interest in animal behaviour and conduct behaviour clinics here at Rhyd Broughton.
Hannah has a cat called Lloyd, he was found in a warehouse when he was 3 days old, he keeps her on her toes with his ongoing shenanigans. Outside of work Hannah enjoys photography, socialising and baking. Her niece’s keep her busy the rest of the time.
Katherine Jones – Veterinary Nurse
Katherine has worked at Rhyd Broughton vets for 12 years. In 2010 she passed her NVQ in veterinary nursing and since then has worked as a registered VN. She enjoys spending time working her cocker spaniels in the winter months and taking them on long hikes throughout the year. She also work on her parents dairy farm taking part in milking, stock feeding and rearing and also enjoys tractor driving in the summer months.
Nikki Owens – Veterinary Nurse
Nikki started at Rhyd Broughton 7 years ago. She came here as a work experience student whilst she was studying animal science at Glyndwr. She progressed from that to an auxiliary and the started her nurse training with us. Being a veterinary nurse is her dream job. She is currently working part time having returned to us after having her first baby. She has two cats, Olvier and MoMo.
Laura Collins – Veterinary Nurse
Laura joined Rhyd Broughton in June 2015 after completing a FdSc degree in veterinary Nursing at Myerscough College. Laura is currently studying for a part time top up degree. She has a rabbit, 2 guinea pigs a hamster and tropical fish. Outside of Rhyd Broughton she enjoys playing the flute and saxophone and plays in a classical and jazz band.
Lauren Evans – Veterinary Nurse
Lauren has recently qualified as a veterinary nurse . She enjoys looking after her two dogs and a rabbit and loves auto grass racing and horse riding.
Danielle Regan – Veterinary Nurse
Danielle has worked at Rhyd Broughton 7 years and has recently qualified as a Veterinary Nurse. Danielle is a qualified dog judge and in my spare time I love to show my Pyrenean mountain dogs. She is also part of the Dennaje Pyrenean Kennels .
Lorna Jones – Cattery Assistant
Lorna has worked for Rhyd Broughton since 2006. She loves looking after at the cats in our boarding cattery in the mornings and with our nursing team in the afternoons. Her favourite hobby outside of work are riding her horse, who she has had since he was 18 months old. Lorna also fosters cats and kittens
Ellie Cook – Auxiliary Nurse
Ellie has been working at Rhyd Broughton for just over two years. She absolutely loves it. Outside of work her hobbies are dog sitting and looking after/riding her horse, she has had him for nearly a year now.
Debbie Hayes - Cattery assistant
Debbie has just joined Rhyd Broughton after recently completing her Level 3 Diploma in animal management at Lysfasi College. Outside of work she fosters dogs, takes part in lots of charity events including midnight walks and is a busy mum looking after her two girls, two dogs and a cat. When she has any spare time left she enjoys socialising with friends.
Lauren Richardson – Student Veterinary Nurse
Lauren has worked at Rhyd Broughton since 2013. She is currently in the first year of her Veterinary Nurse training which she is really enjoying! She has a black Labrador called Riley who is crazy!
